Lainston House Hotel

Lainston House is a charming 17th century
country house standing elegantly in 63 acres of beautiful Hampshire parks but
presented some difficulties both for the main contractor and Shine as one of
it’s primary sub-contractors due to its historical building listing, high
customer expectations and a tight programme of works. All concerned strived for
and achieved the highest standards and we are proud to have been part of the
team that delivered this successful  project.

The Well House Cookery School element was interesting in
that the historic building needed to retain all its period features including a
deep well whilst appealing to corporate and private clients who want to
experience a high class resort hotel whilst learning the craft of cooking in a
state of the art teaching kitchen. The difficulties of turning  this grade
2 listed building into a training/cookery school for the 21st century were
immense and it’s with credit to all involved that they have reached the highest
standards and completed the contract within the timescales provided.

The Dawley Barn Function Room kitchen presented similar
historical sensitivities whilst creating a production kitchen for the function
room. In fact the commercial pressures were such that the following day of
client handover the room and kitchen were in use for a large upscale wedding

The success of this Project was fundamentally down to
the teamwork and helpful attitude by all involved from the client, catering
consultant, architect and the main contractor RoCare.
