The Clink, Cardiff Award

The Clink recently beat 946 competitors
in the city to be named Cardiff’s top-rated restaurant on
TripAdvisor, and has now been shortlisted for a top award.

It is one of three entries to make it to the
finals of the Sustainable Restaurant Awards.

The Clink offers 40-hour a week work to
around 30 prisoners, in either the kitchen or restaurant at the prison based in
Cardiff city centre. The prisoners and a team of trainers create seasonal
dishes made with locally sourced ingredients where possible to work towards
getting a nationally recognised City and Guilds NVQ.

Having both supplied fabrication to and eaten
at The Clink in Cardiff we are delighted to see that this lifeline provided to
inmates is not only successful in turning around the lives of those lucky
enough to get on the program, but recognised as successful for the quality of
the food and service delivered to the public.
