Customer Testimonials

The Fish Hotel

Simon Gillott, Intoto Design
"Getting the project over the line was a challenge with the time constraints but everyone pulled together to get it done. This resulted in a great finished product where it was everything the client had asked for and more. It was a great project to work on and the clients were particularly great to work with.”

Harris Primary Academy, Croydon

Andy Pritchard, Willmott Dixon
"I would like to sincerely thank you all for your hard work and huge effort in completing the Harris Primary, Purley Way Project. The Project handed over on the 19th October, On Time. As we know it wasn’t the easiest project to deliver with the delays to the frame wiping out programme buffer and giving the critical path a 6 week delay. However you all, reacted positively to these issues and with a huge effort from everyone involved in the project ensured that we recovered to ensure that Practical Completion was achieved on time and, far more importantly, ensured that the pupils were in class on the first day of term. Thank you all once again for all your efforts, the team and I look forward to working with you again on future projects."

Coleg Morgannwyg

Paul Norman, Laing O’Rourke
It was evident right from the original tendering process that Shine were the only company that totally understood our client’s requirements and this was reflected within their original presentation, proposal and through further design development.

The completed installation provides the College with a facility that we can all be proud of and will hopefully enable the Catering Students to full fill their expectations.

On behalf of Laing O’rourke I would like to thank Jon Shine and his team with the effort they have given to ensure this project was such a success and look forward to working with Shine as a supply chain partner on future installations.

Newbury Racecourse

Martin Wales Head Of Catering
With over 30 years of catering experience in Stadia within the UK I can honestly say that Shine have been my go to supplier in terms of Kitchen / Bar design and installation. The fit out of over 96 kitchens at Wembley Stadium in 2007 was completed on time and to a very high specification which on my relocation to Newbury racecourse meant that Shine were my first port of call in the redesign of our main CPU. They have also carried out new designs and installations of both our new thirty six bedroom lodge kitchen & bar facility together with a kitchen & bar installation in our new Owners & Trainers facility which is due to open in November. The personal attention and consultative, professional service we receive from Julian and his team throughout the projects we have completed with Shine is a credit to his company and I would highly recommend Shine kitchens for any future projects.

Dyson

Jason Farrer - Tricon Foodservice Consultants
"Shine Catering Systems were commissioned to undertake the supply and installation of catering and servery equipment for a 300 seater staff restaurant at Dyson HQ, based on the Tricon design and specifications. We met many challenges along the way but the reward at project completion was of a very high standard which was mainly down to the pro-activeness of the project management team and office support. Our client is more than happy with the final outcome and their staff enjoy an exciting environment to re-charge throughout the day."

Quod & Manor House Hotel

Derek White - Sefton Horn Winch
“The Clients at both Quod and Manor House Hotel are highly delighted with the results of their refurbishments, and in both cases this very much down to Dan's attention to detail and management of your dedicated installation and fabrication teams. I was also impressed with how the office based support dealt with any on going snags. An excellent job on two very difficult projects that I believe many other catering equipment contractors would have struggled to get the right conscientious teams to complete on time, with almost zero outstanding snags.”

Wiltshire College

Duncan Hepburn - Hepburn Associates
Dan and the team from Shine’s worked well with the main contractor and client, accommodating various changes to deliver facilities in three different areas of the new Campus – a great team to deal with

Lainston House

Andy Waters RIBA, Felce & Guy Partnership
Following inspections on 05.06.15 by FGP and AD Design Associates, the issue of defect and outstanding works schedules ,and also the subsequent revised status issue following an inspection by JCA on 08.06.15, we can now confirm that Practical Completion of the Chef's School has been achieved. I just wanted to say how impressed I was by the project, well done to all involved.

My studio specialises in creative photography of foods for Public Limited Companies to restaurateurs and I was looking to create a commercial kitchen, operated by me and their chefs, that would not only allow us to prepare complex dishes efficiently and quickly but also an installation with an immediate WOW factor and be instantly recognised as cutting edge. Shine delivered a superlative result which exceeded our expectation on both levels. Shine were recommended by a friend for whom they had a year earlier fitted out a fine dining restaurant. The team worked with me to survey the building, plan and then in one week make the structural and services alterations and integrate within the new finishes the ventilation, food storage, prep, prime cook /regeneration and presentation facilities. Our planned shoot the following Monday fully utilised the completed project. The fantastic results can be seen at www.hjphoto.com.

HMP Albany, Camp Hill and Parkhurst

Alan Tuckwood - Head of Prison Service Catering and PE
HMP Albany, Camp Hill and Parkhurst lie in Newport at the heart of the Isle of Wight. The three prisons known as the IoW cluster rely on a single central catering facility to provide all meal provision for prisoners. The food operation into the three sites is complex, made to look uncomplicated by dedicated application, expert skills and proactive management of the menu cycle. The newly built facility at HMP Parkhurst represents a distinctive leap forward in NOMS continued ability to ensure continued delivery of acceptable and decent meals for now and future years. The business critical nature of catering for the cluster is demonstrated by the intelligent and innovative kitchen design features, the quality of build, the level and capacity of the capital equipment together with the quality and extensive care that has gone into the equipment installation.

A great catering operation can only be achieved through a great kitchen, not just one that looks the part, but that is also hygienic, functional and has the ability to grow with the business. The solution provided here represents these necessary qualities enabling the staff and prisoners in post to undertake and cater for the diverse dietary needs of all prisoners.

HMP Acklington

Alan Tuckwood (Head of Catering and PE Services)
During the summer of 2007 'Shine' successfully completed a major project at HMP Acklington by providing a comprehensive installation and commissioning service accompanied by the manufacture of their own bespoke fabrication systems.

The standards achieved throughout this installation were very high and fully met Prison Catering Services exacting requirements. On this basis I would welcome 'Shine' on any future project within the Estate.

Geoff Bishop & Associates

Geoff Bishop
Shine Food Machinery Ltd have been involved on a considerable number of MoD projects over the last few years, and currently undertake more MoD projects than all other catering distributors combined.

These projects have been won by Shines offering sound value for money and fully compliant bids on projects tendered for.

Following contract award, Shines have developed a reputation for following through with good support and liaison to the project design construction teams, culminating in effective installation and commissioning.

As a result of this Shines have been adopted as supply chain members on several MoD prime contracts, and are undertaking further project work within these long-term contracts.

They have also developed an effective dialogue with both the MoD client and catering consultants on MoD projects, leading to the development of improved standards within the MoD estate, particularly on fabrication and Servery counter details.

Thistle - Bloomsbury Park

Joe Potter - Thistle Hotels Property Services Manager
I was impressed by the commitment from your management and company to assist me in meeting an extremely tight deadline. You produced the canopy in an astoundingly short time which meant that our kitchen was able to continue to operate through out the refurbishment of the restaurant. I’d like to thank your production department for that. Your team co-ordinated well with my main contractor which made the running of the contract so much easier.

Tenet Education Services

Julian Edwards
Following on from some recent contracts you have attained through Tenet's best value tender programmes I would like to pass a number of comments to you and the team in Newport: We have found you and your colleagues to be efficient and responsive to client requirements especially when solving problems. Shine has brought a high level of technical know how to a variety of situations. Shine staff maintain a high level of personal attention.

All in all, we are pleased with the comments back form our education clients and to this end we thank you and wish you continued success in the future.

The Celtic Manor Resort

Michael Bates
From the opening of the original country house hotel to operation of today’s international resort, which is to be the venue of the 2010 Ryder cup, Shine have been our primary catering equipment contractor.

During this time we have received a five star service for all the new and refitted facilities within the resort from fine dining to banqueting for 2000. Their perception and knowledge of foodservice developments have assisted in the creation of our distinctive food and beverage signature. Our future facilities have been planned to provide the latest concepts and highest standards of kitchens, food and foodservice.
